June 16th 2012: Siobhan Muir, multipublished and successful author of Her Devoted Vampire and Queen Bitch of the Callowwood Pack, will be at the Las Vegas RWA presenting an interactive talk on flash fiction.
Flash fiction is a great way to tighten up your writing. You’re forced to find just the right words to create a full story in a limited word count based on a given prompt. Siobhan will take us through several flash fiction exercises with different kinds of prompts and introduce some of the flash fiction challenges run each week at from different authors’ blogs. This is great training for both pitching and writing that dreaded query letter.
Flash fiction is also a great way to jump start your muse if you’re stuck on a manuscript. Siobhan hosts her own flash fiction challenge called #ThursThreads every Thursday from 7 am PDT to 7 pm PDT on her blog if you’d like to check it out before her talk.
